Qualification: Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate in Exploring Worldviews

Course Overview

Through studying this course, you will grow your awareness and understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews.

You will be supported to become a responsible and informed citizen, equipped and confident to thrive in a diverse and fast-changing society.

You will have opportunities to explore the concepts for RVE through a range of different units including Understanding Worldview, Exploring my Worldview, Ultimate Questions, Medical Ethics, and Worldviews in my Community

In the future, can apply your skills and knowledge to your professional life and further studies.  This qualification is particularly relevant if you are interested in a career in areas such as :

  • youth work
  • community development work
  • health and social care
  • customer service/business
  • early years care and education

Prior Learning

There are no specific prior learning requirements.

This qualification is designed for anyone, regardless of age or education who would like to develop their understanding of the main issues in relation to RVE across a variety of contexts.

Course Content

The course is comprised of one mandatory unit and a range of optional units, for example:

Understanding Worldview

  • Understand the term ‘Worldview’
  • Understand the factors that can shape personal worldviews
  • Understand the factors that can shape organised worldviews
  • Know the types of ideals that might be included in a religious or non-religious worldview
  • Understand how religious and non-religious worldviews can be expressed

 

Medical Ethics

  • Understand a specified medical issue
  • Gather viewpoints on a medical issue from people who have different religious and non-religious worldviews
  • Understand how worldviews can influence medical ethics and vice versa

 

Ultimate Questions

  • Understand the term ‘ultimate question’
  • Understand a specified ultimate question
  • Gather responses to an ultimate question from people who have different religious and non-religious worldviews
  • Understand your own and others’ responses to ultimate questions

 

You must show evidence demonstrating your achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
