Course Overview

Esports, the industry of competitive gaming is a global and fast-growing industry. If you are interested in progressing into employment in this industry, possibly via an apprenticeship, then this qualification is for you.

This is a career-focused qualification that is widely recognised by employers and will support entry into the industry. Throughout the course, you will develop knowledge, technical and transferable skills, and gain experience in a variety of different sections of the esports industry.

Jobs that are available in these areas include: esports player, team coach, events organiser, shoutcaster and presenter, social media influencer, video production editor, data analyst.

Course Entry Requirements

Standard 6th form entry.

Course Specification:

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Sub-diploma in Esports
To be welcomed back to sixth form you’ll need at least 5 GCSEs graded A* – C, two of which must be English & Mathematics. We offer resit lessons in English & Mathematics if you don’t achieve the required grades.

Course Content

The course comprises a mixture of mandatory and optional units.

Mandatory Units Include: 

  • Unit 1: Introduction to Esports
  • Unit 2: Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis
  • Unit 3: Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry
  • Unit 4: Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players
  • Unit 5: Esports Events.

 

The optional units are decided by the school.

The assessment of this course is 100% internal and can include presentations, reports,  written assessments and individual and group tasks.
