Geography is an excellent subject to study in its own right or as an accompaniment to others such as Science and History.
The WJEC GCSE course in Geography encourages you to develop your knowledge and understanding if a number of key geographical concepts such as cause and effect, cycles and flows, geographical futures, interconnectedness and sustainable communities.
In addition, through studying this subject, you will develop transferable and wide-ranging skills, which include mathematical, statistical, cartographic, mapping and investigative.
Fieldwork is an essential part of this course and you will complete two fieldwork enquiries as part of your study.
There are no previous learning requirements to study GCSE Geography. The course builds on subject content which is typically taught at key stage 3 and provides a suitable foundation for the study of Geography at either AS or A level.
If you do not want to progress to further study in this area, this is still a worthwhile course.
