Business Studies is a genuinely interesting subject which covers a wide range of topic areas ranging from Marketing to Economics, from Accountancy to Human Resource Management. It provides a broad understanding of a wide range of disciplines.
This qualification has been designed to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the business sector and that are required for further or higher education. You will study specific topics including marketing, international business, management and finance and will develop a holistic understanding of the subject. In addition, you will develop a number of transferable skills, including the ability to work independently, undertake methodical research and work effectively in a group.
The course assumes no prior business knowledge and is open to all.
The course consists of six units, four of which are mandatory and two of which are optional. The optional units are selected by the school.

Assessment is varied and can include presentations, reports, written assessments and individual and group tasks.
Four grades are available: Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction*
